Hexagram 4, Inexperience (蒙 Méng) is formed by Water over Mountain. It is also known as Youthful Folly, The Symbol of Covering, Immaturity, Uncultivated Growth, Youth, Acquiring Experience, Youthful Ignorance, Enveloping.

亨。匪我求童蒙，童蒙求我。初筮告，再三瀆，瀆則不告。利貞。
Inexperience means progress and success. I do not seek the inexperienced youth, but he seeks me. When he shows the sincerity proper for divination, I instruct him. If he asks two or three times, that is troublesome, and I do not instruct the troublesome. Firm correctness brings advantage.

發蒙，利用刑人，用說桎梏，以往吝。
A bit of structure is needed in this situation. There's a lack of seriousness about the task at hand, which hinders growth. However, be cautious not to impose too many rules, as this could stifle creativity. Set just enough boundaries to guide progress in the right direction.

Your fantasies and fixations may overwhelm you. Your perception of reality is skewed, making it hard for you to learn. You may ultimately find clarity through the humbling experiences that follow.

童蒙，吉。
Approaching others for guidance with a sense of innocent openness will yield positive results. Good fortune will come your way.

擊蒙，不利為寇，利禦寇。
A novice might need to face consequences for their errors to guide them back on track. Punishment isn't an end in itself but serves to prevent future mistakes and encourage a forward-thinking mindset.
