Combination
19. Approach to 4. Inexperience
Changing lines
Line 1
The first line, dynamic, shows its subject advancing in company with the subject of the second line. Through his firm correctness there will be good fortune. Line one is dynamic in his proper place. The danger is that he may be more strong than prudent -- hence the caution requiring firm correctness.
Line 6
The sixth line, magnetic, shows the advance of honesty and generosity. There will be good fortune, and no error. Line six is at the top of the upper trigram of Docility. Although the first and second lines of the hexagram are not her proper correlates, it is proper for the yin to seek for the yang, and it is emphatically so in this case.
The present judgment
Approach means successful progress through firm correctness. In the eighth month there will be evil.
The later judgment
Inexperience means progress and success. I do not seek the inexperienced youth, but he seeks me. When he shows the sincerity proper for divination, I instruct him. If he asks two or three times, that is troublesome, and I do not instruct the troublesome. Firm correctness brings advantage.
What the move asks
Approach new situations with humility and a willingness to learn, recognizing that fresh perspectives require patience and guidance.
